Welcome to the leading edge of Great Lakes shipwreck discovery and bottomland survey.
In the course of surveying over three-thousand square miles of bottomland of the Great Lakes the URA have discovered a significant number of shipwrecks that were lost throughout the history of Great Lakes shipping.
URA has contributed significantly to the growing list of dive attractions in Lake Huron and there are a number competent charter services in the area who cater to the shipwreck enthusiast.

July 2021 UPDATE: This spring we discovered yet another MAJOR new shipwreck. She is VERY OLD and we just completed our FIRST dive on her and getting initial video!!! Stay tuned for more exciting updates as soon as we can nail down her ID and story.
December 2020 UPDATE: A new 4 shipwreck promo on new 2018 & 2020 discovered shipwrecks will be published on the website in the next few weeks. Keep checking ... you won't want to miss seeing this 12 min introduction to these newly discovered ships! AWESOME VIDEO!!!
July 2021 Update: The video has been completed and we have "tentative" ID's on the shipwreck ID's ... HOWEVER ... due to the Covid issue we have been unable to get to the off-line "paper" records for these four ships to complete and confirm the ID's. Looks like it may be October 2021 before the Alpena Library records open again. We are discussing releasing the promo as it currently exists, but it is not complete without more detailed research. THAT MEANS FIVE NEW SHIPWRECKS that URA is currently working on presenting on this website.
