How We Got Our Start
Dave Trotter began URA in the 1970's and has been actively involved in the search of Great Lake shipwrecks for over 43 years. During that time many different individuals have joined (and some left) Dave's team in the research of these sunken vessels and seeking out their locations. Over the years the URA team has searched over 3000+ square miles of bottom of the Great Lakes. Over this period Dave and his team has honed many technical skills that are involved in underwater search and mapping. Dave and his team have located over 95 previously unidentified shipwrecks as well as sunken aircraft and other artifacts. This has involved countless hours of searching. Many of these wrecks have subsequently been documented by Dave's dive team. The stunning images of these wrecks are then shared with the public.
